As pupils we get lots of opportunities to say what we think about the way we learn and our school. Here are some of the ways our voice gets heard!
The School Council
We meet each week and have members from Year 2 to Year 6. We talk about things which concern us as pupils. Sometimes we discuss things that members of staff have brought up but most of the time we talk about things that we bring to the meetings. The Council is run as a proper committee with officers and minutes! The 2017/2018 delegates are:- Seren and Miles; Levi and Rhiannon; Ella, Daniel, Maisey and Harley. Two of our past members are part of the Cardiff Grand Council 'Children Have a Voice!' and even designed the logo! Two delegates have represented the school at a Cardiff wide pupil voice initiative!
The Learning Forum
The School Council have another job as the learning forum. Teachers attend our meetings so we can tell them how we think that new learning ideas are working in our classrooms. We have given lots of feedback on 'Thinking Maps' and 'Thinking Hats' and on the 'Healthy Schools.' We have been on learning walks around the school to give suggestions on how to improve our learning environment.
The School Eco Committee
We also meet each week to discuss projects that we are working on around the school, village and even in different countries. We are always working hard to reduce, reuse and recycle around school. We led the work in school to become an Eco School and a Fairtrade School. Our big project at the moment is helping two primary schools in Rwanda. We organised a non school uniform day and a raffle to raise money for new doors, windows and floors in two brand new buildings.
